Duplication with solar power

[edit]

Currently, solar power as a higher quality article is both redundant and losing viewership, as "solar energy" is a more popular term than "solar power". This article should talk about energy from the Sun in general, not just about it as electricity. CactiStaccingCrane (talk) 17:02, 6 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Good idea - I suggest you go ahead. Also maybe the photovoltaics section should be removed. Chidgk1 (talk) 17:39, 10 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@CactiStaccingCrane December views show this continues. I tried removing photovoltaics from here - don’t know if that will make a difference Chidgk1 (talk) 09:27, 6 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Moved a para from lead to Solar_power#Cost_per_watt Chidgk1 (talk) 09:34, 6 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe floating solar and solar aircraft should be moved elsewhere? If so where? Chidgk1 (talk) 09:40, 6 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sunlight للطاقة المتجددة

[edit]

More information for the solar energy systems in Egypt.

The main difference between poly crystalline panels and mono crystalline panels? Ans: the main difference is the panel efficiency, mono crystalline efficiency have reached 23%.

Sunlight solar energy is Sol agent for Quantum Solar and the importer for Ja solar in Egypt for more than 5 years صن لايت للطاقة المتجددة الوكيل الحصرة لشركة Quantum Solar و مستورد معتمد لشركة JA solar فى مصر لاكثر من 5 سنوات. 2C0F:FC89:108:BB5F:4C48:29D5:7416:EEB7 (talk) 14:41, 3 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Talk:Energy in Egypt or Talk:Solar panel might be a better place for you to suggest changes but please first read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest Chidgk1 (talk) 19:54, 3 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Efficiency

[edit]

Efficiency of a machine is defined as the percentage of retio of our put (i.e work done by the machine) to the input work (i.e work done on the machine) Efficiency = output work /input work × 100%

Remove Molten Salt Section?

[edit]

I'm not sure the section on molten salt belongs here, and if it does it should be much shorter and concise. Currently it's a very out-of-place, long-winded description of the tech plus a detailed list of a few experimental concentrated solar power projects that use it. I think this information would be better suited on Concentrated_solar_power and Thermal_energy_storage. Also note that while these two technologies were promising several decades ago they are obsolete now for commercial power production thanks to the massive cost decreases of photovoltaic and electric batteries, making the prominence of molten salt on this article seem even less appropriate on a general article about solar energy. Thanks for working on the important solar panel article as well as this one. As you are looking at both articles might you be able to sort out some of the duplication? Chidgk1 (talk) 13:04, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
